“ARAFAT WAS POISONING WITH POLONIUM 210”, THE REPORT BY SWISS DOCTORS IN LAUSANNE
According to the Swiss laboratory, there are levels of radioactive substances eighteen times higher than normal on the body of the former PLO leader, who died in 2004. His wife: “Scientific evidence that he was killed”
Yasser Arafat was poisoned with polonium-210. This is what emerges from the results of the autopsy performed by the Geneva laboratory, and carried out at the request of Souha Arafat, wife of the leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), who died in November 2004 at the Clamart military hospital , in Paris, at the age of 75. The analyzes revealed levels of polonium on his body eighteen times higher than normal.
According to the doctors, who handed over the results to the Palestinian Commission of Inquiry investigating the causes of the former president’s death, there is an 83% possibility that Arafat was poisoned with radioactive substances. According to the 108-page report, written by specialists from the University of Lausanne and obtained exclusively by the broadcaster Al-Jazeera, high levels of polonium were found in the ribs and pelvis. Dave Barclay, a well-known British forensic scientist, told the Qatari broadcaster that the results of the analyzes show that the Palestinian leader was killed. “Yasser Arafat died from polonium poisoning. We found the smoking gun that caused his death. What we don’t know is who held the gun,” he said. The widow, who received the results in Paris – where a murder investigation was opened – declares: “It is scientifically proven that his death was not due to natural causes and we have scientific evidence that he was killed. I’m in mourning again – he added – it was as if they had told me he had just died”. Arafat’s remains were exhumed in November 2012, after an initial series of analyzes on the clothing had highlighted traces of the radioactive substance.
