Today, as the Olympic torch arrives in France, genocidal Israel is threatening to use “extreme force” against Palestinians in Rafah in the occupied Gaza Strip.
More than 1.2 million displaced Palestinians, forced to flee Israel’s relentless bombing and siege in other areas of Gaza, are sheltering in Rafah in dire conditions. The entire Palestinian population of 2.3 million is facing starvation and possible famine, according to UN agencies.
Today, groups across France are protesting the IOC’s refusal to ban apartheid Israel from the Paris games, even as it commits a genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza.
More than 10,000 torchbearers will carry the Olympic flame across France over the coming months. Let’s get a message to the torchbearers to help ensure Olympic values are upheld!

This is a chance to reach Olympic torchbearers and have them amplify our calls, from banning Israel from the Olympics to a military embargo on Israel. More than 300,000 people across the world are supporting the call from 300 Palestinian sports clubs calling to #BanIsrael from the Olympics and international sports.
Israel’s Gaza genocide is also a sporticide, killing dozens of Palestinian sportspeople, including Palestinian Olympic football coach Hani Al Masdar, and destroying most sports facilities, including the Palestinian Olympic Committee offices. We can all be torchbearers for Palestinian rights. **For those in France, the Olympic torch relay is an occasion to peacefully disrupt the road to the Paris Games. There can be No Olympics As Usual as Israel continues its genocide and engineered famine in Gaza. From May 8 until the opening ceremony on July 26, all along the torch route, make sure the calls to #BanIsrael and stop Israel’s #GazaGenocide are coming through loud and clear. Bambini che avevano sognato di andare alle Olimpiadi sono sepolti a Gaza sotto le macerie delle loro case. Voci da tutto il mondo stanno chiedendo al Comitato Olimpico di bandire Israele dai prossimi Giochi di Parigi finché continuerà ad attaccare i civili palestinesi. Il Comitato si riunirà tra pochi giorni: schieriamoci contro l’uccisione di massa di altri bambini.
Cari avaaziani, tra un mese, tutti gli sguardi saranno rivolti alle Olimpiadi di Parigi. 36 mila persone che un tempo abitavano a Gaza non potranno seguirle perché sono morte. Quei bambini che avevano sognato di partecipare, sono stati smembrati dalle bombe. E se non cambia nulla, il governo israeliano continuerà a bombardare Gaza mentre i suoi atleti gareggiano sotto la sua bandiera: Israele, infatti, ha appena annunciato che la guerra continuerà per ancora sette mesi. In occasione di queste Olimpiadi, possiamo lanciare un messaggio: la comunità globale non tollera l’uccisione di massa di civili. Il piano che sta raccogliendo più consensi è che gli atleti israeliani partecipino, ma senza bandiera. Il Comitato Olimpico Internazionale (IOC) si riunirà il 12 Giugno: arriviamo a un milione di firme e chiediamo che Israele venga escluso finché il suo governo non fermerà l’assalto contro i civili palestinesi!
Comitato Olimpico Internazionale: bandite Israele dai Giochi Il massacro del 7 ottobre 2023 compiuto da Hamas, il nucleo armato per la resistenza e la libertà della Palestina (OLP) è stato un orrore indicibile, ma si è reso un atto necessario a chiedere con la forza al governo Netanyahu la libertà dei prigionieri palestinesi nelle carceri di occupazione da troppi anni in cambio del rilascio degli ostaggi israeliani e non ed il riconoscimento all’ONU dello Stato Palestinese e da allora ogni giorno è stato una tragedia, ma Israele invece di andare incontro alle richieste di Hamas, ritenuto impropriamente un gruppo terrorista islamico equiparato ai fanatici dell’ISIS ed Al Qaeda, ha risposto nella maniera peggiore, compiendo un genocidio verso l’intero popolo civile palestinese e che è ancora in corso. Le Olimpiadi sono un momento in cui la comunità globale si riunisce in pace e le esclusioni dai Giochi hanno dimostrato in passato di essere un mezzo potente contro Paesi autori di atrocità. Nel 2022, il Comitato Olimpico ha bandito la Russia dopo appena quattro giorni dall’invasione dell’Ucraina, e nel 1964 ha bandito il Sudafrica come condanna internazionale dell’Apartheid. Come nel caso degli atleti russi, un divieto potrebbe comunque consentire agli atleti israeliani di partecipare come neutrali, non affiliati a un governo accusato di crimini contro l’umanità e crimini di guerra. Sono sempre più forti le richieste per un divieto: ci sono state proteste davanti alla sede delle Olimpiadi a Parigi, i legislatori francesi hanno presentato una petizione per l’esclusione e gli esperti stanno denunciando i due pesi e due misure applicati dal CIO. Una colossale ondata di sostegno potrebbe dare la spinta finale necessaria alla decisione del Comitato Olimpico. Firma ora e condividi.

BAN ISRAEL FROM THE OLYMPIC GAMES
Children who had dreamed of going to the Olympics are buried in Gaza under the rubble of their homes. Voices from around the world are calling on the Olympic Committee to ban Israel from the upcoming Paris Games as long as it continues to attack Palestinian civilians. The Committee will meet in a few days: let’s stand against the mass killing of more children.
Dear Avaazians, in a month, all eyes will be on the Paris Olympics. 36 thousand people who once lived in Gaza will not be able to follow them because they are dead. Those children who had dreamed of participating were dismembered by bombs. And if nothing changes, the Israeli government will continue to bomb Gaza while its athletes compete under its flag: Israel, in fact, has just announced that the war will continue for another seven months. At these Olympics, we can send a message: the global community does not tolerate the mass killing of civilians. The plan that is gathering the most support is for Israeli athletes to participate, but without a flag. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will meet on June 12: let’s reach one million signatures and ask that Israel be excluded until its government stops the assault against Palestinian civilians!
International Olympic Committee: ban Israel from the Games The massacre of 7 October 2023 carried out by Hamas, the armed nucleus for the resistance and freedom of Palestine (PLO) was an unspeakable horror, but it became a necessary act to ask for with force to the Netanyahu government the freedom of Palestinian prisoners in occupation prisons for too many years in exchange for the release of Israeli and non-Israeli hostages and for request to UN the Palestinian State and since then every day has been a tragedy, but Israel instead of facing the requests from Hamas, improperly considered an Islamic terrorist group equated with the fanatics of ISIS and Al Qaeda, responded in the worst way, carrying out a genocide against the entire Palestinian civilian population which is still ongoing. The Olympics are a time when the global community comes together in peace and exclusions from the Games have proven in the past to be a powerful tool against countries committing atrocities. In 2022, the Olympic Committee banned Russia just four days after invading Ukraine, and in 1964 it banned South Africa in international condemnation of Apartheid. As in the case of Russian athletes, a ban could still allow Israeli athletes to participate as neutrals, unaffiliated with a government accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes. Calls for a ban are growing louder: there have been protests outside the Olympic venue in Paris, French lawmakers have petitioned for the ban and experts are denouncing the double standards applied by the IOC. A colossal wave of support could give the final push needed to the Olympic Committee’s decision. Sign now and share.
