La prima scossa è stata registrata alle 17:52 con epicentro nell’area di Poggio di Roio, frazione dell’Aquila. La magnitudo registrata è 3.6 con profondità di 13 km. L’evento sismico è stato subito seguito da un altro evento di magnitudo 3.7 nella zona di Lucoli (comune alle porte del capoluogo), rilevato dalla rete INGV il minuto successivo con profondità 10 chilometri.
